April 2009
Greetings!

I hope you are enjoying these first days of spring. I know that I want to be out in the garden as things start to sprout and show their green thrusting heads. We will meet at Rose Lodge this coming Saturday April 4, which is a change from our usual second Saturday of the month.  We will meet at 11 a.m. at our usual start time.
The I Ching guides us to pay attention to the adverse aspects of our lives in order to transcend our past circumstances of life so that we may rise to our new abilities. Our progress comes to us through our courage and our dedication to the principles of change that are constantly at work in the universe. The old saying that “sooner or later we reach a dead end when we talk,” is apropos during this time. What this means is that during this difficult and trying time that we must be sparing of words and let our actions speak for us. Learning to be relaxed in the face of danger, learning to let go of our insecurities and embrace our power is the way to emotional stability and transcendent awareness. Oppression of any kind must be dealt with by a vigilant and quiet inner strength of character. Seek your inner vision and avoid dispiritedness. Let your negativity drop from you, and release your pessimism so that your inner development can be tempered into true power. Opposition is always present in this world.  An altruistic cause can be of benefit for self-development at this time. I suggest that we as a group do a benefit for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. I can set up something for us to do as a way of raising money for the children.
Innocence coupled with persistence brings exceptional success. Spring is the time of thunder. Thunder awakens the primal power. Problems arise out of wrongheadedness towards a goal. Innocence rather than cunning is the way. We must learn to rely on principles in order to advance. Watch for the unexpected, the unusual, the unpredictable to enter into the life. This could seem to be unnerving but it can stimulate new ways of thinking. Surprises can refresh your energy. Be spontaneous and childlike so that you may benefit from your innocence. Do not attack problems head on but rather use an indirect method so that you can gain the best results.
Please R.S.V.P. so that we can know for whom to make lunch. Remember to bring your own plates, cups and utensils so we can save the environment.

Deeply yours,
David Lynn Chandler
