November, 2009
Greetings! I hope this finds you well and enjoying the autumn colors. We will meet at 11 a.m. as usual at Rose Lodge on the Waterford Country School’s campus on Saturday, November 14 . Please remember to bring your utensils and plates per the norm as well. Our work will align with Grace. What this means is that we must endeavor to approach the process with an open mind, possessing simplicity, utilizing acceptance and integrating humility. We want to approach the work from a place of following the Creative, which manifests its way in a multi-dimensional fashion. We want to avoid the pretense of brilliance in order to make an ego oriented show of knowledge that has not been achieved as of yet. When we let the Cosmos take charge of the process and accept the way as being unconditional then we can awaken to the power of the Unknown and its ability to activate correction. Be simple. Be open. Live humbly. We must make sincere effort to renounce defense of the ego. This type of openness makes us feel vulnerable. The courage that it takes to allow this type of vulnerability is recognized by the Sage. Hide your light. Stay on top of your principles and disguise your intelligence. Reserve your abilities. “The superior man uses his intelligence best by hiding it,” I Ching. Learn to accept times of evil by being inwardly aware and yet outwardly gentle. Maintain your inner convictions while hiding your feelings outwardly. Good and evil arise simultaneously and stand often near each other. Be aware, and look for the center. There is an old saying that the world will be saved not by the good, and not destroyed by the evil, but protected by the centered and balanced. On the other side of the coin we must know that when we feel safe there is the possibility that the ego can make its way back into the power position in our lives. We need to maintain discipline, and keep to the knowledge that the invisible Sage saves us. We must not allow ourselves to forget that the safety is bought for us through trial. We must maintain our modesty, and avoid uncertainty. Finding a way to be in a neutral state is of the utmost necessity. We need to discover how to avoid thoughts that lead to unbalancing us, and keep our inner dignity and independence. Abandoning uncertainty is one aspect of the work, but accepting certainty is not the way either. Holding to the neutral centered position is the way. Center yourself in simplicity and humility. Yours truly, David Chandler
